Problem solving

We accepted Ms Raynes' challenge earlier this week after the neighbours fence was broken by some silly vandals.
"What should we do with the wooden spools on the field?"

We wondered...

How could we protect the fence?
How could we catch the people who rolled the spools into the fence?
How and where could we keep the wooden spools safe?
Could we turn the spools into something else so that the people wouldn't roll them down the hill and smash the fence?

Some ideas...

...man eating sharks?

Assembly

We shared our design ideas with the school.

Mad science!

Chloe and Georgia created their own bubble solution earlier today and added a few colourful ingredients!

...sorry mum for the purple hands.

We had loads of fun!

Science in a Van

We had loads of fun with the crew from "Science in a van" this week.

Buddy Class Mini Challenge

Today we learnt how to work collaboratively - the challenge was to figure out how to play hopscotch. This involved a little problem solving, some negotiation and lots of communication!

Even though we had played on the hopscotch squares at school, some of us had never learnt the rules.

Habitat 10 are going to find out just what the rules are to playing hopscotch, and write some instructions for us to follow.  Then we can work together with our buddies to modify the game and create our own unique version; and teach another group our cool new game!
