Collaborative art
We learnt how to work collaboratively to produce this Lester Hall inspired art piece for the new library space
(old Habitat 5).
We worked in groups of 4 -5 to produce 4 separate pieces which were later taped together to form the tiki.
We learnt to stipple and blend paint using our fingers (finger painting). We used the three primary colours and white, and our knowledge of contrast to make sure we placed different colours next to each other.
To create effect we practised drawing kowhaiwhai patterns on paper first, and then used the wooden tip of the paint brush to add the swirls, koru's, leaves and waves whilst the paint was still wet.
We love finger painting!
